Projects: Parker Hannifin
Corporate Headquarters

Located in a suburban office park, this Corporate Headquarters for a Fortune 500 Company takes its cues from its site, formerly a golf course. A small lake and fairway defined by mature deciduous trees were instrumental in determining the placement of two wings connected by a glass enclosed lobby. An exterior skin composed of two subtle shades of precast concrete alleviates the monumentally of the three story wings. Metal panels contribute an even finer scale, and are used to identify lobby, cafeteria, stairways and a promenade past the expanded lake.

Structural bays and window mullions were determined by an interior modular planning standard of 5 feet, 0 inches.

The result is a highly flexible loft space. Through planning and use of interior glass partitions, all employees have access to natural light and views. Lighting in open office areas is accomplished with indirect sources supplemented by task lighting at the work service.

Throughout the interiors are neutral with bolder pattern and chroma introduced in upholstery, work station panels and selected broadloom insets and walls. While comfortable and serene, the interiors are suggestive of European sources, reinforcing the company’s global stature.

The new headquarters has a board room with a rear screen projection as well as meeting rooms strategically located within departments.  A training center provides a series of smaller meeting rooms plus two large seminar rooms, one of which is tiered. Both rooms have state of the art audio visual systems utilizing computerized communication techniques.
