Projects: TRW Guesthouse

trw_guesthouse_01

Originally designed by Prentice Sanger, the Bolton House, set on 110 acres of rolling lawns, was occupied by many distinguished visitors including presidents and foreign dignitaries. Rare woods and fine workmanship were combined in all its rooms.

The scope of the project was to design the mansion and its rooms for conferences, reception dinners and lodging for guests, board members, and high level executives of TRW in order to provide a prestigious lodging facility with first-rate guest rooms in close proximity to the TRW World Headquarters.

The exterior restoration included water blasting and repainting the cedar siding, reflashing and reguttering the eaves, removing and relaying the slate roof tiles over new substrate and repointing the brickwork.

Interior restoration included replacing the existing mechanical, electrical and plumbing services with new components, adding a new staircase from the third floor through a space occupied originally by a bathroom and remodeling the servant’s quarters into larger bedrooms.
